The Resort Course at Talamore

A Case of Beauty and "The Beasts".

Opened in 1991, Talamore Resort Course is a hub for travelling golfers. The challenging Rees Jones design combined with the beautiful villas make this facility a home base for many coming to enjoy a golf package in the Sandhills/Pinehurst area. Routed through thick woods with sharp elevation changes and nasty bunkers, the course requires a variety of shots and creativity to make your way safely around the layout. Interrupted fairways are present on many of the holes, so careful club selection is a must. One of the original features at the club was a llama caddie program. Since retired, but still on-site at Hole 14, these creatures lead us to uncover “The Beast’s of Talamore.”

Feature Holes Descriptions:

Many courses open with the customary “handshake” hole to welcome you and get you going. Not here! Hole one is a beastly dogleg right Par 5 that forces you to carefully consider the interrupted fairway in the landing area and then climbs past a series of bunkers guarding the right side of the fairway. The Par 3 15th is beastly long with a green home to a series of ridges. Rated as the most difficult hole on the course number 16 features mounds right and a fall-off left and anything long is dead and anything short and off target will find the massive guarding bunkers. The final tee shot must carry a large pond on this dogleg left finish. A bail out right will leave you with a very lengthy approach to a green protected by a huge bunker front left.
