A PGA Tour Favorite for Good Reason.

Each May the PGA Tour comes to the Tampa area to be challenged by Larry Packard’s Copperhead course. This lengthy beast is one of the four championship courses part of the magnificent Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort. A Tour favorite, Cooperhead is blessed with a rolling, hilly terrain that makes this golf experience unlike most other Florida rounds. Routed through tall pines and around the many strategically placed ponds, this layout tests all facets of your game, length, placement and precision. A must play while in the Tampa area.

Featured Holes Descripton:

The Par four holes are the meat of this PGA Tour stop.  The second hole, a dogleg left, has a well guarded landing area pinched tightly between trees and a lake on the right. The safe shot seems to be down the left to avoid the water, but be careful the trees don’t block you out.  The elevated tee of Hole 6, presents a tight, tree-lined dogleg right that has a fairway canting right to left and so tough to find. Number 13 can be played as aggressively as you feel comfortable. A lay-up to your favorite yardage is the safe play as a driver may find a watery grave at the end of the first section of fairway. The first hole of the “Snake Pit,” Number 16 is piano string tight with water all the way down the right and thick trees left. Pick your target, hit and hope it finds the narrow strip of fairway, as that is the only chance at par on this wicked hole.
