The King & Bear:
Arnie and Jack's Florida Masterpiece .
A couple exits south of Jacksonville on I95 is The World Golf Village, a sprawling tribute to everything golf. A little west of the complex on 9 Mile Road, is a private residential enclave that features a uniquely wonderful compilation design by arguably the two biggest names in golf. Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, two if the games most noted players and designers, have carved a beautifully crafted routing with rolling fairways, vast ponds and trademark drivability. The course rolls around expansive ponds lined with beach bunkers and vast woodlands. A very driver friendly design, The King and Bear also presents tricky, well protected green sites guarded by slope, elevation change and plenty of water and sand. A great blend of length, precision and shot shaping is needed to face this challenging course of legends as a perfect addition to the World Golf Village Resort.

Feature Holes Descriptions:
The opening hole is a Par 4 with plenty of teeth. Your first drive of the round is over water and a huge beach bunker, best played with a left to right ball flight to avoid the hazards. The multi-tiered green guarded by traps in front will test your putting right out of the gate. The first of the Par 5 holes, Number 5 is a tricky risk / reward dogleg right. A vast pond and another beach bunker tempt the big hitter, while a well placed pot bunker hides in the middle of the expansive fairway right it the landing area on your second shot. The Par 3 sixth hole plays back over the pond and another enormous beach bunker. The heavily sloped green is raised and well protected by bunker fingers. A back right pin is flat out nasty here. Mr. Palmer identifies Hole 15 as one of his favourite designs. A short Par 4, this hole can be played many ways to avoid the water right and the stone facing protecting the green jutting out into the pond.
