Mid-Pines Resort:
A 1921 Donald Ross Classic Reborn.
The Sandhills of North Carolina are filled with a wide variety of outstanding golf experiences. One of the favorites for generations continues to be the Pine Needles and Mid-Pines Resorts. Mid-Pines, a 1921 Donald Ross design has recently reopened out of an extensive renovation. Located amid beautiful southern pines and through rolling terrain this scenic and challenging layout presents all that is Sandhills golf. Tricky Ross greens, a variety of up and downhill shots and lots of wire grass and pine straw to eat up errant shots. With plenty of elevation change, let’s have a look at some of the “Ups and Downs” of Mid Pines.

Feature Holes Descriptions:
It is no coincidence that the featured holes play as some of the most challenging at Mid-Pines. The opening hole gives you a taste for what is to come right away. A mid-length Par 4, the tee shot falls down to the bottom of a large valley pinched by bunkers in the landing area, then rises to a sloping green. Number 7 is another Par 4, but this one plays uphill the entire way, with bunkers and a trees to navigate. Hole 16 is a lengthy Par 4 beginning on an elevated tee requiring a big smack to get to the corner of this dogleg left. The final hole finishes with a raised plateau green surrounded by the exquisitely charming Mid Pines Inn as a backdrop to your round.
